Electric actuators

Benefits

Improve positioning accuracy for modulating duties

Lower lifetime energy use and routine intervention

Support faster commissioning and preventative maintenance

Overview

Spirax Sarco electric actuators provide reversible linear motion for control valves that need dependable on-off or modulating operation, with the AEL6 platform aimed specifically at users who want smarter valve actuation rather than a basic motor only. For many international steam and process plants, electric actuation is attractive where compressed air consumption needs to be reduced, electrical integration is simpler than instrument air infrastructure, or commissioning time has to stay predictable across multiple valves. The AEL6 series combines analogue input and feedback handling, automatic commissioning, travel scaling and onboard diagnostics in one compact package, helping the actuator learn the installed valve stroke and reduce setup effort after installation or replacement. Stored operating data, torque monitoring and status visibility support a more proactive maintenance approach, making it easier to identify actuator drift before it affects control stability or process consistency. Compared with air-powered alternatives, electric actuators can reduce routine utility demand while still supporting accurate remote valve positioning on modulating duties where repeatability matters. These actuators are typically paired with Spirax Sarco control valve assemblies where users need a complete valve package with clearer diagnostics, easier setup and stronger long-term visibility of actuator condition.
